Second half of the 17th cent. The Ms. was probably written during the reign of King Yoḥannǝs I (r. 1667-82). It was donated to the church Čäḥat Madḫāne ʿĀlam in the time of rās Sǝbḥāt (s. Additio 1).Summary

- Biography of John is misplaced (check the viewer17 4ra-174va). Usually it comes before the Bǝsrāta Yoḥannǝs “The Gospel of John”. - The “Tituli” for the Gospels of Mark and John are not numbered. - There are 44 “Tituli” for the Gospel of Mark (usually 48) and 19 for the Gospel of John (usually 20). - The canon tables are missing. - The scribe always uses a line break after the number of the chapter before its incipit.

And qäs gabaz was mämre Tasfā Mikāʾel. So that it might be for him a guide to the Kingdom of Heaven. Who would steal it (the book) and erased it, be excommunicated by the authority of Peter and Paul. Also his father Tasfā Giyorgis and his mother Rǝgbä Dāwit Walatta Yohannǝs and his brothers Tawalda Gabra Śǝllāse, Walatta ʾƎgziʾ, Madḫǝn Takla Hāymānot and his children Gabra ʾEwosṭatewos, Walatta Kidān, Walatta Tǝnsaʾe. The note is written in the same hand that added the names into the supplication formula on . It states that ʾato Walda ʾAragāwi bought the book and donated it to the church of the Saviour of the World in Čäḥat in the time of rās Sǝbḥāt (possibly rās Sǝbḥāt ʾAragāwi (1875-1914); s. Ms. MY-006; EAE IV, “Sǝbḥāt ʾAragāwi”, 587-589). -
: Record concerning land transaction.
The note is written in Amharic. It is dated to 1936 A.M. and concerns a sale of a piece of land in Čäḥat by wayzaro Tǝʾbe ʾAbadi to bašay ʾAsgädom ʾAbḥa for 30 Bǝrr. Below the note, 6 fingerprints in purple ink: the seller, the buyer and witnesses. -
: Reconciliation note.
The note is written in Amharic. It concerns reconciliation between two families: the family of blatta Nǝguśe Gäbray, a murder victim, and the family of ʾato Mäzgäbo Ḫagos, the murderer. Below the note, 3 fingerprints in purple ink: the murderer and two sons of the murder victim. Blatta Nǝguśe Gäbray might be the son of blatta Gäbray mentioned in the purchase note (s. Additio 1). -

The Ms. has been resewn; the sewing has been repaired with a recent synthetic thread. The spine cover has been cut off. check the viewer162 is of irregular size (the right and the bottom margins are trimmed).
Binding
Two wooden boards (the back board is not original, made of two re-used pieces of wood). Brown tooled leather cover is preserved only on the frond board. Two pairs of sewing stations.
Binding decoration
Two pairs of rows of small holes are visible on the spine fold of the quires, close to the head and tail of the codex.
