He became the governor of Tǝgrāy↗ succeeding rās role: titleWalda Śǝllāse↗ in 1822 and he continued to rule until his death 1831.

He died in the battle of ደብረ፡ ዓባይ፡↗ fighting against his principal foe Mārǝyye Gugsā↗ in February 1831 (internal)
