The church is situated in the town Lālibalā. Hewn in the rock, it features frescoes that have been tentatively dated between the 12th/13th centuries. These portray biblical scenes, such as the Annunciation, Holy Men, the Transfiguration and feature also a series of confronted animals and abstract motifs. Its collection of manuscripts include an illustrated Gospel book dating to the late fifteenth or early sixteenth century and a lavishily illustarted Nagara Māryām.
