Condition
The cover is torn, bent and broken in correspondence of the attachments with the bookblock. The sewing has been repaired several times using differnt kinds of vegetal threads, leather strips and textile string. The quires have slipped toward the front edge. The parchment is stained with dirt, torn and damaged by insects. Holes occurred during the manufacture have not been repaired. Fol. 59 is composed by two strips of parchment overlapped for 10 mm and sewn together using a parchment string 2 mm wide.
Binding
Ethiopic bookbinding with boards in stiff leather.
The boards are made of coarse stiff dark brown leather. The board attachment follows the traditional found on wooden boards: two holes perpendicular to the inner border and one hole in the inner edge of the board.Sewing Stations
