He was the third abbot of Dabra Libānos↗ who succeeded his predecessor ʾabuna role: title Elsāʿ↗ in 1314. He expanded Christianity in Šawā↗ and in the provinces further to the south dispatching 11 pupils of ʾabuna role: title Takla Hāymānot I↗ . He also openly reproached King ʿAmda Ṣǝyon I↗ for his marital practices and his interferences to the church matters. He also received suffering during King Sayfa ʾArʿad↗ , the son and successor of King ʿAmda Ṣǝyon I↗ and spent some time in custody at Zwāy ↗ and was expelled from one province to another. His Gadl, Gadla Filǝṗṗos (za-Dabra Libānos), was supposed to have been written during the tenure of Yoḥannǝs Kamā↗ the seventh abbot of Dabra Libānos↗
Death
He died at the age of 74 and was buried at a place called Ḥaqqalet↗ in 1348.
