The one who stole (what is written in) it or the one who scratched it without the permission of the abbot shall be excomunicated by the authority of Peter and Paul. The note is written in the same hand as the one that added the name of the donor Takla Hāymānot. -

Condition
The front board is re-used, and attached to the text block in reversed position. The leather cover of the front board and of the spine is partly missing; of the back board partly detached. The Ms. was resewn; the sewing is damaged. Some 10 initial quires of the text block are loose and crudely attached with recent threads. Quire I is loosely attached to the text block, quire IX and XVII are partly detached from the text block. Tear carefully amended on check the viewer76 .
Binding
Two wooden boards covered with reddish-brown tooled leather (partly missing); textile inlays. Two pairs of sewing stations.
Binding decoration
Four rows of small holes (two close to the head, and two close to the tail) are visible on the spine folds of the quires.
