Tarik za-taṣǝḥfa ba-mawāʿǝlihomu la-naguśa nagaśt Yoḥannǝs..., "History that was written in the time of the King of Kings Yoḥannǝs...", a short historiographic composition.
( gez ) ተሪክ፡ ዘተጽሕፈ፡ በመዋዕሊሆሙ፡ ለነጉሠ፡ ነገሥት፡ ዮሐንስ፡
The note, in a mediocre hand, was written during the time of King Yoḥannǝs IV (r. 1872-1889), nǝbura ʾǝd ʾIyāsu and ʾabbā Takla Hāymānot and ʾalaqā Takla ʾƎsṭifānos from Gondar (the scribe?) "who was with them". The note is a list of metropolitans of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church from ʾabbā Salāma to ʾabuna ʾAtnātewos (in tenure 1867-76), with description of some events. It contains 107 names. Besides, it mentions some rulers of Ethiopia and events that took place when they were in power, such as King Susǝnyos and the arrival of the Catholic priests, the restoration of the Orthodox faith, the rule of King ʾIyasu, the conflict between daǧǧāzmāč Wube and rās ʿAli, the death of ʾAtnatewos at ʿAdwā. -

The back board, the leather cover and the overback have been severly damaged by insects. The leather cover and the overback are torn off from the edges. Holes are carefully amended on check the viewer35 , 38, 91.
