Colophon: “O Lord, the souls of your servants and their names [are], Gäbrä Hǝywät, Zäwäldä Maryam and Wälättä Arägawi. [Remember them] forever and ever, amen. For our king Mǝnilek [II, 1893–1913] by the unified [power] of the nails of the cross of our Lord, Jesus Christ, which were 2,924 [in number]. It is completed. The scribe is Walda Giyorgis and this book belongs to Ras Wäldä Giyorgis [1851–1918, Negus of Gondar 1917–18]. God gave [this book] to him [Wäldä Giyorgis] for the salvation of his soul and his body. It is written 7,391 [AM = 1891 EC = 1898/99, in the year of Luke [the Evangelist]. The book of Gǝnzät is finished. Gäbrä ǝgzi’abǝḥer, Wäldä Giyorgis, and Amäta ǝgzi’abǝḥer and Wälättä Maryam, forever and ever, Amen. Let it be, let it be. And the scribe is Wäldä Giyorgis, sinner and wretch. This book belongs to Ras Wäldä Giyorgis. He gave it to Gǝbǝda Giyorgis [church]
