After the removal of the Roman reign. In the second era of the reign of our king, lover of God, of Orthodox faith, Ḫayle Śǝllāse I, Täfäri Mäkʷǝnǝn, in the third year of his return. Shall the one who stole it and the one who erased [its text] and the one who sold it be excommunicated by the sword of the word of Peter and Paul, so be it. The information from the colophon allows the dating 1943/44 A.D.: - 1936 A.M. - the expulsion of the Italians - three years after the return from exile of Ḫāyla Śǝllāse I
