Summary
Contents
Incipit ( ):
Explicit ( ):
- The text is very similar to the printed edition Maṣḥafa Säʿatat, ba-gǝʿǝzna ba-ʾamarǝñña. Za-lelit wa-za-nagh, Tǝnśāʾe za-Gubaʾe printing Press, Addis Abäba 1952 A.M. [1960 A.D.]. - About the text “Maṣḥafa Säʿatat” and the different versions, cp. EAE V,501-503. - The text ofMR-027is very similar to Ms.QMM-003. - In the text, the references to specific hours are not given and the title is not mentioned. - On check the viewer47r l.9 – 47v, the unidentified passage is written in red ink (different from the other one used in most of the text) and is separated from the main text through a long line of the same red ink. The words “ፈቲና፡ ብ[om.]” (“trial ...”) are written with the same red ink before the red line. - On check the viewer48r-53v the handwriting slightly changes from that one used for the majority of the text. In these folios, it becomes more regular, uniform and, in some traits, more angular. On check the viewer48r - 48v ls. 1-9, besides, it is bigger and taller. Also the punctuation used as sentence dividers is for some cases different: on check the viewer1r-47v , the scribe usually uses the nine dot asterisks (፨); on check the viewer48r-53v the scribe usually uses the four dot asterisks (።). On check the viewer48r , as word dividers, it is used the five red and black dot vertical colon. - A chain of black and red nine dot asterisks, followed by a chain of black and red dots, is both on check the viewer41vb (ls.7-8) and on check the viewer44ra (check the viewer10-12 ). In the two situations, this specific punctuation acts as text dividers between two different subsections of Text I-3 (in both, two different Hymns to St Mary). - The number of the columns changes: it is two, on check the viewer1r-46v , and one on check the viewer47r-53v . - On check the viewer48r the last ruled line is not written.

Condition
The back board is missing. Most of the original sewing is missing; it is repaired with recent threads. Most of the leaves are washed out, especially in the final part of the manuscript where, therefore, several passages are not easily readable (esp. check the viewer53v ). The text at the end is incomplete because of missing folios. A few folios at the beginning (esp. fols. 1-10) are slightly damaged at the upper edges (maybe gnawed by rodents). A hole repaired on fol. 1.
Binding
Two wooden boards (the back board is missing). Two pairs of sewing stations. Two rows of small holes sometimes visible in the centrefold of the quires, close to the head and tail of the manuscript.
