Holy Man Portrait

From the fourteenth century onwards Ethiopic manuscripts frequently feature portraits of standing saints. Some figures, such as Takla Hāymānot or Gabra Manfas Qǝddus, have specific iconographic features, whereas other have generic ecclesiastical attributes.
