Arius
Names
አርዮስ፡ ʾAryos Arius
Birth
0270
Period of Activity
He was a controversial church leader, who hardly played any direct role in Ethiopian church history. Neither Arius's own writings nor his actual doctrine reached Ethiopia in any depth. The teachings of his followers do not seem to have become known there either. However, Arius himself as infidel and events from his protracted conflict with religious fathers are often mentioned in , Mäṣḥafä mǝkr, Maṣḥafa bǝrhān and Mazgaba hāymānot and refuted his heresy.
Death
Both in and Mäṣḥafä mǝkr it is mentioned that his death was disgusting (his intestines are said to have come out of his belly).
