Sälomon II was the king of Ethiopia in 1777-79; Sälomon III was the king of Ethiopia in 1796-97 and in 1799. ʾIyosab II was the metropolitan of Ethiopia in 1770-1803. John XVIII was the patriarch of Alexandria in 1769-96. The name of Ṗeṭros as the Alexandrian patriarch is mentioned for unclear reasons.Summary

ff. 2-5 are of considerably smaller size than the rest of the folios. They have probably been appended to SQMM-008at a later stage. The folios contain the hymn Śarāwita malāʾǝktihu la-Madḫāne ʿĀlam “The hosts of the angels of the Saviour of the world” written out for various liturgical occasions. Anaphora of St Athanasius of Alexandria (text III-10) is not inscribed with the saint’s name.

Condition
Many leaves are very worn and stained with dirt. The outer edges of check the viewer27 and 30 are torn. check the viewer57 is rumpled, the upper outer edge of the folio is lost, there is a small loss of text due to a hole. Front board is cracked and repaired by means of additional sewing stations.
