Partly in Amharic, crudely written in pencil in a secondary hand and hardly readable. The note mentions that the book was donated by rās Gabra Mädhǝn to the church Qarsabar Mikāʾel in Ṭǝrr 13 (?) [19]39 A.M. (= January 1946 A.D.) during the time of Ḫāyla Śǝllāse I (r. 1930-74) and Bishop Marqos (r. 1937-1951, as Bishop of Tǝgray and Eritrea).

The sewing has been repaired with a cord. Stitch repairs (visible at the spine) have been used for reinforcing quires I-VII. check the viewer10 was damaged by fire. Tear carefully amended on fol. 2.

Two wooden boards covered with tooled reddish-brown leather; textile inlays. Two pairs of sewing stations.
