Yoḥannǝs IV was Emperor of Ethiopia in 1872-89. ʾAtnatewos was Metropolitan of Ethiopia in 1869-76. Ṗeṭros IV was Metropolitan of Ethiopia from 1881 to ca. 1889. The mention of ʾabbā salāma as Patriarch of Alexandria is difficult to account for. The Ms. can most safely be dated to the reign of Yoḥannǝs IV.Summary
