check the viewer8vb , 9ra, 42vb, 47vb, etc.: Mǝnilǝk is mentioned as the reigning King, Qerǝllos as the Patriarch, Ṗeṭros as liqa ṗāṗās (Metropolitan?; name written in black ink and by a different hand) and Matewos as ṗāṗās (bishop). Mǝnilǝk II was Emperor of Ethiopia in 1889-1913, Cyril V was Patriarch of Alexandria in 1874-1927, Ṗeṭros IV was Metropolitan of Ethiopia in 1881-89 (demoted by Mǝnilǝk II who made him bishop of the northern territories including Tǝgray), Matewos was Metropolitan of Ethiopia in 1889-1926. The Ms. most probably dates to the initial years of Mǝnilǝk’s reign, as the data of the supplication formulas reflect the uncertainty concerning the status of the two Ethiopian prelates at this period.Summary
