Mocking of Jesus
Jacopo Gnisci
General description
A miniature showing Jesus Christ↗ during or after his mocking. The scene often draws from Western images of the Ecce Homo. It may include two or more guards and may draw some elements from other episodes such as the Crowning with thorns. In some manuscripts the two scenes are combined, whereas in others they are presented separately.
