Written in a fine, trained hand in red and black ink. Some parts are illegible. Possibly the same hand that wrote the name Yoḥannǝs in the supplication formulas throughout the Ms. The note states that the Ms. was donated by King Yoḥannǝs IV to the church dedicated to ʾAmanuʾel, the abbots of the church are ʾabuna Walda Yoḥannǝs and ʾabuna Walda ʾIyasus.

- A short ownership note (, upper margin) hints to the former owner, the church Madḫāne ʿĀlam, which is the church at Mäqdäla founded by Tewodros II (r. 1855-68). - The name Rufāʾel is written in “negative” writing, in , in “white” (colour of the parchment) writing on black ink background, by leaving blank the space for the letter (s. EAE III, 741). - Erased notes: , 37rc, 219v, 220r, 220v. - Minor notes and writing exercises: , 33v, 90r, 163r, 140v, 196r, 202v. - Pagination in a recent hand in Arabic and Ethiopic numerals in the upper corner of the Ms.

Condition
Both boards are broken and repaired with metal staples, the back board is of more recent age. The Ms. has been resewn; the sewing is damaged and has been repaired (e.g., fols. 1, 14, 22, 28, 212). ff. 2 and 3 are loose and are of different a parchment. Some fols. are stained with dirt (check the viewer10v , 11r, 17r, 29v, 30r, 31r, 199v). The Ms. is heavily affected by water: in the upper margin (fols. 8-26); in the bottom margin (check the viewer209-220 ); in the centrefold, with text loss (fols.52v, 53r, 60v, 61r, 97v, 158r). Some fols. are heavily twisted: 178, 179, 180, 181, 186-220.
