Translation English: This “Book of the Faith”, which talks about the union of divinity, was completed with the help of God […] And its completion happened in 6646 year of the world, in the year of Mark the Evangelist, in 262 year of mercy. When the epact of the month was 4 and the maṭqǝʿ was 26. And when the epact of the sun was 7; when the sun was at the 6th height; from the 5th height at the time of its rise. In the 3rd year of reign of our King <…> by the grace of God who was called Śǝlṭān Sagad and the metropolitan ʾabuna Sǝmʿon. And again the completion of this “Book of the Faith” happened on the 5th of the month Ṗǝyon in the Syriac speech and in Roman Miṭrǝyos and in Hebrew Hazirān and in Gǝʿǝz Sane. And the one who commissioned this book was ʾabbā Za-Krǝstos, the teacher of law and order, so that it might become memorial in earth and in heaven. And the one who wrote it was his son Malkǝʾa Krǝstos. May God write their names in Heavenly Jerusalem; together with associate Ṣǝge Hāymānot; and particularly for ʾabunaZa-Krǝstos who took the trouble to commission it in perseverance of flesh and soul. May thou never forget all the children of Dāmmo, the great and the minor. Forever and ever, Amen.
The colophon mentions the regnal name of King Śǝlṭan Sägäd (the King’s “worldly” name, Susǝnyos, is erased) as well as the names of the Metropolitan ʾabuna Sǝmʿon (in tenure 1607-17), the commissioner ʾabbā Za-Krǝstos, the scribe Malkǝʾa Krǝstos and his companion Ṣǝge Hāymānot. For the completion of the Ms. the dates mentioned are 6646 year of the world (?), 262 year of mercy (=1610 A.D.) and the 3rd year of the reign of Susǝnyos, i.e., Śǝlṭān Sagad (=1610 A.D) .
