First half of the 18th century(?). Quire I (check the viewer1r-8v ) was added somewhat later, the text on check the viewer219rb-221vb was written at the same time. On check the viewer5vb-6ra , ʾabbā Yosef is mentioned as the patriarch and ʾabbā ʾIyosʾab as the metropolitan. Yosef was the birth name of John XVIII, Patriarch of Alexandria in 1769-96. Yosab II was Metropolitan of Ethiopia in 1770-1803.Provenance
Walatta Kidān mentioned as owner (s. Additio 2). Supplication formulas within the main text also mention Walda Śǝllāse, Tasfā Giyorgis, Walda Giyorgis, Walatta Ṣǝyon and others (s. check the viewer182va , 201va, 206vb, etc.). Some of the names in the supplication formulas have been erased. Additio 2 mentions Kidāna ʾIyasus as the church to which the book had been donated.

Condition
The Ms. is worn. Many leaves are stained with dirt. Parts of some leaves are torn off, with partial loss of text (s. check the viewer72 , 119, 218-221). Text on check the viewer220v-221r is poorly visible, probably due to damage from humidity. Remnants of the former leather cover are preserved on the inner side of the front board. Spine cover is partly detached, held by means of crude stitches.
Binding
Two wooden boards (front board is partly preserved, back board is missing) covered with brown (un-tooled?) leather (half-cover), for the most part missing. Two pairs of sewing stations.
